This was a different romance from what one normally encounters in the erotica genre. It's a pity that it's priced so high for the length (should really be 99 cents for the length, but the quality of the writing and the uniqueness of the story make up somewhat for the higher price). I think a lot more people would have read this touching story that reveals key life moments (first meeting, first sex with each other, graduations, birth, death) with a couple totally in love with each other if the story had been priced more appropriately.Starting with the current time and then moving backwards was a really unique and refreshing way to present this relationship. Although the story is short, the world building is satisfying - reminiscent of pioneers, but on another world. The love Keane has for Marrin is a tear jerking one. The only reason why I don't give this 5 stars is due to price and also, because you don't really discover anything about Keane's inner feelings beyond his love for Marrin, nor do you understand what motivated him to become a contracted husband to her - surely he and others of his race would have had better options? Although obviously the reader is glad he didn't : 0

I wish this were a full length book. It took me awhile to figure out the book because it starts close to the end and then backwards in time as they get to know each other. Keane is a field-husband, someone Marrin hires/marries to help her with her farm on a planet her first husband brought her and her daughters to. So it practically starts with them totally in love and then almost ends with the day they first met. Romantic, I just wish it would have been fleshed out more.
This is the first Megan Hart work I have ever read. Now that I've glanced over some of her other titles, I think this one might be a Little Different. Now, I like my naughty books quite a bit and it appears as though she does a good job with those (I'll have to go check into some of them...). This one was not a nookie-book however.
It was a tale that really reached out and grabbed, and though I generally don't like to pay money to cry, I'm so glad to have bought and read this one! The publisher blurb was not kidding about the hankies! But in a good sort of way.
Some stories really stick with you and keep you thinking and this was definitely one of those. Not only that, the format was exactly suited to the tale. I'm not sure exactly how it comes out in pages, but the 'locations' amount I think puts it in novella category size. It only took a few moments to adjust to the time progression, but it was an excellent way to tell this story.
My review title says it all...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

(edited to add I should clarify, YES THERE IS NOOKIE, but I was so taken by the story I kind of forgot about it while writing the review...not that it was forgettable, it's just I liked the story so much. In fact, maybe all her books are like that, I'm definitely going to go looking at some of Megan Hart's other books!!).
Perhaps this is one of the most beautiful and touching books I have ever had the pleasure of reading. At first I was a wee bit confused as the story began to unfold. It starts in the present, moves through the past, then back to the present. Yes, there is quite a bit of sex, but truly it is secondary to the love and affection of the main characters. I highly recommend this book and while it can be read in one sitting, the story will stay with you forever. Well worth the price and, yes, you will need a hanky. Don't hesitate, read it!

A very sweet vignette about the life of a couple told in reverse from the end to the beginning. Each scene is from a stage in the life of the couple. From meeting to the kids wedding, graduations and birth of grandkids.
The twist, the husband never ages, the wife does and each recollection includes a very hot sex scene between the two.
My only problem is that while emotionally moving, this reads more like the epilog of a good romance. The setting and plot are there in the early recollections but we are only given a glimpse of the fascinating story between these two. I hope someday there will be a more fleshed out story concerning this couple.
